Psalm 127 (Amplified)
A Song of Ascents of Solomon.
1EXCEPT THE Lord builds the house, they labour in vain who build it; except the Lord keeps the city, the watchman wakes but in vain.
2It is vain for you to rise up early, to take rest late, to eat the bread of [anxious] toil–for He gives [blessings] to His beloved in sleep.
3Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.
4As arrows are in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth.
5Happy, blessed, and fortunate is the man whose quiver is filled with them! They will not be put to shame when they speak with their adversaries [in gatherings] at the [city’s] gate.

Again we are reminded that if CHRIST is not the foundation of the Family, it will not stand. If He doesn’t build the house (family), those (everyone in the family) who build it labour in vain. CHRIST should be the solid foundation of any family, starting at the father as head of the home. He is the one that must ensure that his relationship and that of his wife is sound & strong, teaching this principle to their children. We must remember that all children belong to Father (Eph 1:5) and are only given to parents as a gift to oversee, train and equip in the ways of GOD.

Scripture guides fathers to discipline their children, but not to provoke them. Fathers are to love their wives and not to be harsh with them. Wives are to submit to (not be abused by) their husbands as is fitting in the Lord. Children should obey their parents in everything and honour them. Parents must be sensitive to the needs of their children, promote open communication and give them a secure comforting home where they will feel safe, loved, secure and be willing to share their hearts, their concerns and their challenges.
Children grow up to be adults with a free will, and they will choose a way of life based on what seems desirable, true, and satisfying. Passionate Legacy is about parenting, but more than that, it is about leaving a legacy of passion for Christ. It is about doing whatever it will take in your own lives to lead our children in such a way that they choose for themselves a biblical worldview and a life following God.
